Hanlon Builders Ltd worked as Principal Contractor to deliver the remedial works on a Live Student Accommodation building in the city centre of Liverpool. Housing over 250 students and a live office block on the Ground floor. The fire remedial works allowed to bring the building to certification of EWS B1 Standard.
The project aimed to enhance the overall fire safety and thermal performance of a ten-story student accommodation building through a comprehensive redesign and integration of an external insulation envelope, a Steel Framing System (SFS) and retrospective cavity barrier installation. The primary focus was on elevating structural stability, thermal efficiency, and fire mitigation and suppression capabilities, with the overarching goal of retrospectively improving the fire safety of the building. Operating within stringent spatial constraints, the project sought to seamlessly integrate these enhancements while minimising disruption to the existing building infrastructure.
